Introduction

My name is Alyssa Wilson—I use she/her/hers pronouns—and I am a Therapist and Licensed Social Worker. Thank you for letting me be a part of your therapeutic journey.

I believe your path is your own, and we will work in tandem to develop the best practice course for your goals. In our therapeutic space, our time will be one of strengths-based collaboration tailored to ensure you not only feel heard, but understood.

While I address a wide array of focus areas, my primary specialties include working with depression, anxiety, intra- and inter- personal difficulties, loss and grief, mood disorders, and the processing of traumatic experiences. I remain staunchly committed to utilizing past, present, and ever-growing experience to inform and develop the manner through which I provide a holistic, responsive, and culturally-centered approach to mental health.

Together, I believe we can create a safe and empowering space to best address your needs and foster a culture of healing. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or requests for a consultation—I sincerely hope and look forward to working with you.

What clients say about me

My clients have shared that they find me to be a cheerful person. I strive to bring unconditional positive regard into our space because I think this can be integral to creating a safe, open, and understanding environment. I believe empathy and authenticity are essential features of our time and work together, and I seek to constantly maintain the space needed to encourage clients to flourish.

About Me and My Professional Skills

  • Outside of my therapeutic work, I spend my time reading fiction novels, trying new workout classes, going to the theater, and enjoying the company of my family and friends.

  • I received my master’s degree from The University of Chicago’s School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice where I studied clinical social work and various therapeutic modalities.

  •  I am a Licensed Social Worker with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

  • I utilize an integrative, multi-dimensional approach drawing from CBT, ACT, DBT, somatic and mindfulness-based interventions, and a variety of other therapeutic modalities to best meet you where you are on your path to whole-person centered care.
